Frequently Asked Questions
What is Liquid Chemical Transportation?
At TET Global Logistics, we ensure the transportation of various types of liquid chemicals, including personal care products, cleaning agents, pharmaceuticals, organic chemicals, paints, food, agriculture, and construction materials, across all points in Turkey and Europe with a focus on quality, safety, and environmental friendliness. We conduct our liquid chemical transport activities in compliance with the European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR)*, adhering to the SQAS** sustainable safety and quality standards set by the European Chemical Industry Council.
With a fleet of over 300 vehicles and a daily average transport capacity of 10,000 tons of liquid chemicals, we provide transportation services across Turkey, Europe, and globally through container shipping.
Our fleet includes ADR-certified, temperature-controlled, L4BH type road tankers made entirely of 316 L stainless steel, Eurotainer-branded containers, and light equipment, offering integrated road, rail, and sea (intermodal) logistics. We accompany the products through every stage, from loading to unloading.
Our insulated road tankers, equipped with compressors and pumps, are divided into three to five compartments and can transport up to six different chemical substances at once. These tankers are equipped with gear, lobe, and electric pumps and have a loading capacity ranging from 15,000 to 25,000 tons. Tank containers offer loading capacities between 20,000 and 33,500 liters. All our road tankers and containers adhere to SQAS standards.
Our vehicles are equipped with mobile communication systems, providing our customers with real-time tracking of the entire logistics process. Supported by in-house training, our expert team and experienced drivers holding SRC 5 Dangerous Goods Transportation Licenses ensure compliance with the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System criteria of the British Standards Institution.
Liquid Chemical Transportation with SQAS Standards
In our logistics activities carried out in accordance with SQAS standards, we provide comprehensive protection for the chemicals we transport against potential damage and loss. In addition to comprehensive insurance against traffic and theft-related losses, we also secure a Deductible Excess Agreement that increases the voluntary liability of the insurance. We aim to compensate for potential damage and loss of the transported product through Transport Insurance.
We conduct our liquid chemical transportation operations in accordance with the laws established by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey, ADR Dangerous Goods Transport Regulations, and SQAS standards. By using EURO5 and EURO6 engine technologies in our vehicles, we contribute to environmental sustainability and the protection of natural resources for a healthy future.
The European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), which came into force in 1968 by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, includes technical regulations such as the packaging and labeling of dangerous chemicals, materials required for the construction of vehicles carrying dangerous goods, and the operational scope of these vehicles. The Agreement aims to ensure the safe transportation of dangerous chemicals while protecting environmental health and safety. It is crucial for companies engaged in the transportation of dangerous goods to conduct their operations in compliance with ADR rules.
SQAS (Safety and Quality Assessment System) for road transport is a program that sets standards for the performance of companies providing brokerage and intermodal transport services in terms of quality, safety, health, environmental, and corporate social responsibility. The European Chemical Industry Council ensures regular audits of logistics companies through SQAS to maintain service quality in the industry. Therefore, SQAS is considered an important evaluation program in the chemical logistics sector.
In Turkey, SQAS covers Bulk Chemical Transport and Liquid Chemical Transport.
What is liquid chemical transportation?
The shipment of products that may pose a risk if they come into direct contact with people and the environment is referred to as liquid chemical transportation. Due to its importance, it is one of the most preferred and meticulously performed logistics services. On the other hand, liquid chemical transportation can be considered a subcategory of hazardous material transportation. Liquid chemicals are actively used in many different areas of daily life, and it is essential not to overlook the numerous safety measures required during liquid chemical transportation.
What types of chemicals are suitable for liquid chemical transportation?
Liquid chemicals, which require high-level safety measures during transportation, have a fluid structure. Examples include fuels, oils, solvents, alkalies, acids, resins, adhesives, liquid soaps, paraffin, concrete additives, and detergents. Liquid chemicals can be categorized into two classes: hazardous and non-hazardous. Each of these products must be transported according to their specific properties. The transportation of hazardous liquid chemicals should be conducted with specialized vehicles and by experts in the field.
What transportation methods are used for liquid chemical transportation?
There are various transportation methods used for liquid chemical transportation. These methods include tank transportation, pipeline transportation, maritime transport, rail transport, and air transport. The choice of transportation method depends on factors such as the type of chemical, transport distance, speed of delivery, and other relevant factors. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages, and the selection should be made based on the specific characteristics of the liquid chemical. This ensures the identification of the safest and most appropriate method.
What are the possible risks during liquid chemical transportation?
In liquid chemical transportation, different types of vehicles can be used. It is crucial to choose vehicles that are suitable for the properties of the chemicals being transported. Depending on the characteristics of the substance, specific precautions may need to be taken. Since high pressure and temperature within the vehicle can pose serious risks, ideal conditions must be ensured for each type of liquid chemical. Another important aspect is obtaining the necessary permits for transporting liquid chemicals and providing transportation services that comply with safety standards.
What safety precautions should be taken when transporting liquid chemicals?
During liquid chemical transportation, packaging must be appropriate for the type and properties of the substance being transported. Packaging should be labeled with accurate information about the contents, and the transportation process should be planned accordingly. The transportation should be carried out using vehicles designed for hazardous materials that are suitable for the characteristics of the substance. Additionally, the process should be managed by expert, experienced, and trained personnel. This approach helps to minimize potential risks associated with liquid chemical transportation.
